5 centrepieces you can make at home

Are you planning a dinner party or wedding on a budget? If so then you’ll want to keep costs down in every way possible. And that means you’ll have to get creative to make sure you have everything.

To help, we’ve put together 5ways that you can create stunning centrepieces that work perfectly with your big day.

Photographs

When thinking of centrepieces the first think likely to jump to mind are flowers. They’re the most obvious choice. But what about if you did something a little different? Buy a range of different photo frames and on each table put a different photograph. You could even go one better and place a photo that means something to the people on the table. It’ll be an excellent conversation starter.

Fruit and veg

Sure, your guests will likely be eating at the table, but why not offer them something to chow down on while they await the arrival of their food? Fruit and veg are colourful too, so they’ll look stunning. You could even incorporate flowers to the mix to add even more colour!

Potted plants

Fun and fast, using living plants to make up the centrepiece is sure to be a talking point. Again, you could go for colourful, but you can also choose to stick to one theme of plant and colour.

Try to avoid using larger, bushy plants. They could easily get in the way of people trying to talk across the table! Also, make sure you use waterproof liners in the pots so water doesn’t leak all over the table.

Dried and fake flowers

Purchasing real flowers can be expensive. Especially if you’re making centrepieces for a large group. The perfect alternative is dried and fake flowers. They look amazing, require next to no maintenance and are cheaper. Perfect for the budget planner!

Think outside the box

There are hundreds more centrepiece ideas out there. A quick search of the web will bring you plenty. But try to think of some original ideas yourself. You know the party or wedding best. So come up with something that represents you!
